Case Study: Apartment Move

We recently had the pleasure of working on an apartment move project, managing the complete move of new furniture into recently serviced apartments.

The client

The brief

The apartment move required an experienced logistics team to move new FF&E items into their designated areas, ensuring the apartments were ready to be moved into.

The solution

This move required 4, 7.5-tonne lorries to be unloaded. To maximise efficiency we had a team of 4 involved, carefully manoeuvring all items into their designated areas.

Planned drawings were provided to us which we expertly followed, making sure all products were positioned correctly in their correct location. Once the furniture and fittings were in, HIL then unpacked all items, assembling any that required doing so. This included coffee tables, lamps, desks and meeting tables. All packaging was removed from the site and taken for off-site recycling.

After liaising with our clients to ensure they were satisfied and to check for any product quality issues, the apartment move was completed on budget and in one day!

Case Study: Landmark Hotel Move

The Client

The Landmark Hotel in Westminister is an oasis of luxury set in the heart of London. Considered a perfect retreat away from the vibrancy of the city, this luxury 5-star hotel offers a perfect haven of serenity for those for all.

The Brief

Hotel Interior Logistics were enlisted to remove 59 beds from the luxury hotel so that space could be used for a Toy Trade Fair held annually at The Landmark. The beds needed to be stored off-site in a safe, secure, clean and dry location for 1 week, before being returned to the hotel promptly after the event had finished.  HIL has been enlisted with this exercise for the past 3 years.

The Solution

In order to cause minimum business disturbance to the hotel, the beds were removed at the last possible minute to keep the rooms profitable for as long as possible. The timing was of the essence during this process as the disassembly of the beds couldn’t take place until the rooms were vacated after the guests had checked out. This task had to be carried out as efficiently as possible to avoid disrupting the serene atmosphere that the hotel is so well-renowned for.

As we are a relocation company and moving furniture is what we do best, we recognise the need for items to have effective protection when being transported. Therefore, the mattresses were bagged for protection, and the base units were blanket wrapped for transport in the vehicles. 

The beds were kept secure and above all else, clean and dry, for the week-long duration in our purpose-built warehouse which also features 24-hour security for maximum peace of mind. Once the event had finished, the beds needed to be returned to the hotel for 10 am, after which we began reassembling and reinstalling the furniture in the appropriate rooms, avoiding disturbance to other guests, to commence reassembly whilst avoiding guest disturbance.

Waldorf Hilton Hotel | London

 

Are you tired of the concrete jungle? Escape to the countryside and find a scenic paradise… in the capital!

That’s what we did at Hotel Interior Logistics when our hotel logistics services were enlisted by the Waldorf Hilton London Syon Park hotel in Middlesex, West London. The oasis that is the Waldorf Hilton London Syon Park hotel, sits on the edge of the two hundred acre Syon House Estate, an English pastoral setting that has been the home to the Duke of Northumberland for over 400 years.

During their stay, guests can explore the magnificent estate, private apartments and view the Great Conservatory, the first to be built from metal and glass on such a scale – built in the 1930s. There are over forty acres of gardens with more than 200 species of trees, where guests get the chance to experience the timeless elegance of an aristocratic country house.

The Syon house is a popular filming location, and most recently the grounds and great Conservatory were used for ITV’s latest period drama, Vanity Fair. BBC’s Silent Witness, Downton Abbey, The Great British Bake-Off, and ITV’s Poirot have also been filmed at this stunning location. It doesn’t just end with a few of the UK’s most loved TV shows, Syon house has also made it onto the silver screen, with films such as Alice Through the Looking Glass and Transformers: The last Knight, using the grand buildings and grounds as filming locations.

The hotel opened in May 2011, with 137 stylish and contemporary guest rooms and seven luxury suites, all equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows. The windows allow guests to take in the breathtaking views of the hotel’s gardens and reflecting pools, the beauty of a 180-year old Bonsai tree, relaxing outdoor terrace, greenhouse, and the tranquil surroundings and legacy of the Syon Park Estate.

Hotel Interior Logistics is a leading supplier of FF&E and OS&E management, and we were thrilled to carry out such a task in a spectacular and historical location. Our work included the shipping and transportation of the FF&E and OS&E items.

Prior to installation dates, we stored the hotels FF&E and OS&E items in our purpose built 300,000 cubic foot warehouse. Here we offer clean, dry and secure storage with undercover loading bays, situated close to London and major road links and airports.

When it was time for installation, supervisors oversaw the deployment of HIL’s resources to ensure relocation and installation works were completed within specific timescales, in order to keep the hotel’s grand opening on schedule.

For the Waldorf Hilton Syon Park hotel, we carried out such jobs; the hanging of headboards, artwork, and mirrors, within guest rooms and public spaces throughout the location. We also placed decorative items in their required positions. We understand that it takes time for these items to be made and shipped, therefore, our team takes great care in handling these items at all times.

The Ampersand Hotel | London

Located in the heart of South Kensington, The Ampersand Hotel is a small, luxury 5-star victorian treasure that is widely inspired by the capital’s world famous museum district and iconic ampersand symbol, illustrating the hotel’s role in connecting its guests to the best of South Kensington.

The Ampersand Hotel unites guests with the local surrounding area, through five themes of botany, music, geometry, astronomy and ornithology, all distinctive features of the Museums that surround the hotel. The hotel opened its modern incarnation in the summer of 2012, however, the hotel was originally built as a boutique hotel in 1889 (called The Norfolk Hotel) with just 80 rooms, each of which had different fittings and furniture.

Now the hotel has 111 rooms and suites, all inspired by the local neighbourhood, all reflecting the same five themes of the previous hotel. The Victorian values of discovery and wonder combined with modern London design define all rooms and suites within the hotel; from the patterns of the V&A costume collection, to the planets of the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum’s ornithological drawings and the drama of the Royal Albert hall. The eclectic style never distracts from the comfort of a good night’s sleep.

The hotel is well located for guests who are eager to explore London’s museum district, located near the V&A and Natural History Museum. With South Kensington tube station just across the street, London is well within easy reach. The upmarket shopping district of Knightsbridge, notably Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores, can be reached on foot.
